Saint Lawrence University in Canton, New York, has announced the hiring of 10 new faculty members for the current academic year. Three of the new faculty members are women. The university enrolls about 2,400 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students. Women make up about 55 percent of the student body.
Jenny Su is a new assistant professor of psychology. She previously taught at National Taiwan University. She will teach introductory psychology and courses on cultural and cross-cultural psychology. Dr. Su earned a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Minnesota.
Jennifer Thomas was appointed an assistant professor of performance and communication art. She previously taught at her alma mater, Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She earned a graduate certificate in women’s and gender studies and a Ph.D. in theater art from the University of Oregon.
Penny Vlagopoulos was named an assistant professor of English. She previously was an assistant professor of English at Texas A&M International University in Laredo. Dr. Vlagopoulus earned a Ph.D. in English and comparative literature from Columbia University in New York City.
