Hood College Provost Chosen to Lead Buffalo State University

Katherine Conway-Turner has been selected as the next president of Buffalo State University, a member of the State University of New York system. Buffalo State enrolls about 9,700 undergraduate students and 2,000 graduate students. Women make up 57 percent of the undergraduate student body. The appointment must still be approved by the SUNY board of trustees.

Dr. Conway-Turner is currently the provost at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She is the former provost of the State University of New York at Geneseo. Earlier in her career, Dr. Conway-Turner was dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Georgia Southern University and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware.

Dr. Conway-Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, a master’s degree in psychology, and Ph.D. in psychology, all from the University of Kansas.
