Eileen Breslin Named President of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing

Breslin_highresEileen Breslin, dean and professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, was elected president of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She will serve a two-year term.

Dr. Breslin joined the faculty at the University of Texas in 2008. Previously, she served for 10 years as dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Earlier she taught nursing for nearly a decade at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Dr. Breslin earned a master’s degree at the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, headquartered in Washington, D.C., represents more than 740 member institutions nationwide.
