Renay Scott Chosen to Lead Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces, New Mexico

Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces, New Mexico, has named Renay Scott as its next president. The college, which is affiliated with New Mexico State University, enrolls about 9,300 students. Women make up 57 percent of the student body.
Dr. Scott was chosen from a group of three finalists who all interviewed on campus earlier this month. She will take office on June 1. Scott is currently vice president and provost of academic services at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio. Prior to joining the administration at Owens Community College, Dr. Scott was an associate professor of teacher education and development at Central Michigan University.
Dr. Scott is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She earned a master’s degree at Michigan State University and a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction from Wayne State University in Detroit.
