Two Deans Announce Their Intention to Step Down

tanzer_kimKim Tanzer, the Edward E. Elson Professor and dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, announced that she will step down as dean at the end of her current term in June. Professor Tanzer will remain on the faculty at the University of Virginia.

Before joining the faculty at the University of Virginia in 2009, Professor Tanzer taught architecture at the University of Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her master of architecture degree from North Carolina State University.

Ann DuganAnn Dugan, executive director of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the University of Pittsburgh, will leave her post during the first quarter of 2014. She will also step down as assistant dean of the university’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. Dugan founded the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence in 1993. Since its inception it has assisted in the start-up of 800 new businesses.

Dugan holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
