University of Alabama Appoints Two Women as Interim Deans

The University of Alabama has announced the appointment of two women as interim deans.
Jennifer Greer, professor and chair of the department of journalism, has been named interim dean of the College of Communication and Information Sciences. Before joining the faculty at the University of Alabama in 2007, Professor Greer taught at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada.
Dr. Greer is a graduate of the University of Missouri. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
Rebecca J. Pow was appointed interim dean of the College of Continuing Studies. She joined the college in 1988 and most recently has been serving as senior associate dean and director of academic outreach.
Dean Pow holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.
