Yildiz Binkley Retires From Post as Dean of Libraries at Tennessee State University

Yildiz Binkley, dean of libraries and media centers at Tennessee State University in Nashville, has retired after more than 40 years at the university.
Dr. Binkley, a Turkish immigrant, was hired in 1971 as a junior reference librarian and rose through the ranks. In 1991 she was named dean of libraries. She also served as a tenured professor at the university.
Dr. Binkley was the first secretary of the HBCU Library Alliance when the association was established in 2002.
