The campus of Ursuline College, a college for women in Pepper Pike, Ohio, just east of Cleveland, was hit by a tornado. Thankfully, no one was killed or injured by the storm.
But the tornado did considerable damage. The roof and some of the walls of the college’s gymnasium were ripped from their foundations. Trees were uprooted throughout campus and other buildings were damaged by flying debris.
The storm struck just one day after the college had been notified that it had been accepted as a member of the NCAA’s Division II. Sister Diana Stano, president of the college, stated, “We lost our gym. Maybe God said that you’re a D-2 school, you probably need a new gym.”
