University of Nebraska Omaha Looks to Double the Number of Women in IT Degree Programs

The University of Nebraska at Omaha has announced that it is initiating an effort to raise $400,000 for the establishment of a fund that will seek to increase the number of women students in information technology fields. The funds will be used for scholarships, mentoring programs, recruiting efforts, and for outreach programs for girls in junior high and high school.
Many business in the Omaha area will help the university in its fundraising efforts to create the fund. The goal is to double the number of women in IT fields at the university by 2015.
