The New Chancellor of Indiana University East

cruz-uribeKathy Cruz-Uribe was named chancellor of Indiana University East in Richmond. The university enrolls about 4,100 students. Almost two-thirds of all undergraduate students on campus are women.

Dr. Cruz-Uribe has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University Monterey Bay. She has held that post since 2007.

Dr. Cruz-Uribe is the former dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Northern Arizona University. She holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Chicago.

“I am thrilled and honored to be chosen as the next chancellor of Indiana University East,” Dr. Cruz-Uribe said. “My husband and I very much enjoyed our visit to campus and the wonderful faculty, staff, students and community members we met. I look forward to the opportunity to lead the continued development of the region’s campus of choice for four-year and master’s education, and to collaborate with colleagues throughout the state as we work to improve educational attainment in the state of Indiana.”
