Dickinson College Names Its First Woman President in Its 229-Year History

Nancy A. Roseman was named the 28th president of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. When she takes office on July 1, she will be the first woman president of the college in its 229-year history.

Dr. Roseman was the director of the Williams-Exeter Programme at Oxford University. She is the former dean and assistant to the president at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Dr. Roseman joined the Williams faculty in 1991 as a professor of biology.

Dr. Roseman is a 198o graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She earned a Ph.D. in microbiology at Oregon State University.
