In Memoriam: Barbara Ann Graham, 1930-2012

Barbara Ann Graham, associate professor of nursing emerita at the University of Virginia, died in Charlottesville last week. She was 81 years old.
Dr. Graham joined the faculty at the University of Virginia in 1971 and taught there until her retirement in 1994.
Graham grew up on a farm and was an accomplished athlete winning several city tennis championships. She was also an avid golfer. She began her career as a public health nurse and then decided to further her education in the field. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing and an educational doctorate from the University of Virginia. She also held a master’s degree in public health nursing from Emory University in Atlanta.
