Engineering Dean at Clemson University Leaves Post

Esin Gulari, dean of the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University has stepped down from her post. She has been on medical leave since June 2011. She will continue to serve on the university’s faculty.
Dr. Gulari has served as dean since 2006. Previously, she was director of the Chemical and Transport Systems Division at the National Science Foundation. From 1993 to 2000, she was chair of the department of chemical engineering and material science at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Gulari is a graduate of Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology. She served for two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Stony Brook University of the State University of New York System.
