Four Women Named to New Posts

Gale E. Gibson was recently named senior vice president for academic affairs at Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey. She was the founding dean of the College of Freshman Studies and professor in the department of student affairs and services at Medgar Ever College in Brooklyn, part of the City University of New York system.
Dr. Gibson hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Binghamton University, part of the State University of New York system. She earned an educational doctorate at North Carolina State University.
Gina Crabtree was named registrar at Wichita State University. The appointment is effective on June 10. She is currently serving as associate registrar. She previously served as director of admissions and director of budgets and personnel for the division of campus life and university relations at Wichita State.
Crabtree is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and holds an MBA from Wichita State.
Cassandra Griggs was appointed director of alumni relations and alumni giving at Tennessee State University in Nashville. She has been director of annual giving since 2009 and has been on the staff for 16 years.
Griggs earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee State.
Rebecca Pentz, professor of hematology and medical oncology in research ethics at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, was named chair of the Ethics Commission of the Atlanta Board of Education.
Dr. Pentz holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Irvine.
