Christy Hanson to Lead the Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College

Christy Hanson was appointed dean of the Institute for Global Citizenship at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. The appointment is effective on July 1. Dr. Hanson is currently completing a one-year term as the Hubert H. Humphrey Professor in International Studies at the college. She has been on leave from her position as chief of the infectious diseases division of the Bureau for Global Health at the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Dr. Hanson holds a master of public health degree from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in international health systems from the School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
