Two Education Professors Honored at National Education Finance Conference

Two women education professors were among the 10 recipients of 2011 Distinguished Research & Practice Fellow Awards given out recently at the National Education Finance Conference in Tampa, Florida.
Deborah A. Verstegen, professor of education finance, policy, and leadership at the University of Nevada, Reno, was honored, in part, for her book Financing Education in a Climate of Change (Pearson, 2011).
Dr. Verstegen is a graduate of Loretta Heights College in Denver, Colorado. She hold a master’s degree from the University of Rochester and a second master’s degree and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin.
Also honored at the National Education Finance Conference was Lisa Driscoll, associate professor of educational leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Professor Driscoll’s research is concerned primarily with the legal, fiscal, and policy issues concerning equality in education.
