With over three decades of higher education experience, Dr. Simone has led Lake Region State College on an interim basis since May 2025. She previously served as CEO of Dakota College at Bottineau and president of both Western Nebraska Community College and Trinidad State College in Colorado.
Founded in 1906 as the North Dakota School of Forestry, Dakota State College at Bottineau is now an affiliate campus of Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota. Most recently Dr. Simone served as president of Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.
Dr. Simone is the current and founding vice president and dean at the University of South Dakota Community College for Sioux Falls. Earlier, Dr. Simone served as president of Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado for five years.
