Dr. Wendland previously spent five years as provost at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She will serve in the same capacity at West Virginia University beginning July 1.
The new deans are Mary Lou Vredenburg at Springfield Technical Community College in Massachusetts, Anna Hickey at Christopher Newport University in Virginia, Carrie Showalter at West Virginia University, Laura Ken Hoffman at Murray State University in Kentucky, Carrie Mospens at Hawai'i Community College, and Suzanne Kissock at Missouri Western State University.
A faculty member at Marshall University since 1997, Dr. Shah serves as senior associate dean for faculty advancement in the university's medical career. Throughout her career, she has conducted extensive research on faculty vitality and retention.
Currently director of the School of Teacher Education at Florida State University, Amy S. Thompson received the 2024 Distinguished Service to the Profession Award from the Association of Language Departments, a part of the Modern Language Association.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve at Clayton State in this interim capacity, and I hope that my contributions will aid in the success of its students, faculty and staff," said Dr. Fountain, currently the associate provost for faculty affairs at Georgia State University.
Before being named interim president in 2022, Dr. Jackson served in various roles at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Her previous roles included chief operating officer, executive vice president for institutional advancement, president of the West Virginia University at Parkersburg Foundation and associate professor of communication.
