Dr. Pride had been serving as the vice provost for academic strategy and operations at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Earlier she served as associate vice chancellor for university relations and chief of staff for the chancellor of the university.
The four women honored with notable awards are Ann Brothers Smith of West Virginia State University, Julie Wheeler at Utah State University, Yoko Kano of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Beatriz Colomina of Prinecton University in New Jersey.
Sherine O. Obare has been serving as associate vice president for research and a professor of chemistry at Western Michigan University. Dr. Obare also serves as a research leader fellow at the American Public and Land-Grant University Council on Research.
The new deans are Farzaneh Razzaghi at Western Carolina University, Ann Cudd at Boston University, J. Paige Carney at West Virginia State University, Wendy M. Likes at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and Laurie Mullen at Towson University in Maryland.
The new appointees are Melody Tankersley, Tonjanita Johnson, Lysa Salsbury, Ashley Schumaker, Jacqueline Edmondson, Tina Kunzer-Murphy, Joan C. Dunbar, Martha Escutia, Sarah Case-Price, and Martha Warren Bidez.
Donna H. Oliver, president of Mississippi Valley State University, and Alicia Jackson, dean of the business school at Susquehanna University, are in the running.
