Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, has announced the promotion and awarding of tenure to four faculty members. All four are women: Lorraine McCrary in political science, Karen Quandt in French, Sujata Saha in economics, and Erika Sorensen-Kamakian in biology.
Created in 1995 and sustained by grants from the Lilly Endowment, the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion at Wabash College seeks to enhance and strengthen education in North American theological schools, colleges and universities.
The National Resources Center at the University of South Carolina recently named 10 educators as 2019 Outstanding First-Year Student Advocates. Out of the 10 recipients, eight were women.
The eight women who have been appointed to dean positions are Helen Easterling Williams at Pepperdine, Michelle L. Janssen at Wabash College, Linda Schadler at RPI, Sirena Cantrell at Mississippi University for Women, Tracey Matthews at Springfield College, Robin Groce at Appalachian State, Cyndi Banks at Northern Arizona, and Inge-Lise Ameer at Dartmouth College.
