The deans are Lakeisa Tucker at South Carolina State University, Michele Vancour at Southern Connecticut State University, Brooke Burks at Tuskegee University, Kecia Williams Smith at North Carolina A&T State University, Heather Hathaway at Marquette University, Pamela Ochoa at the University of Texas at Tyler, and Sarah Radtke at Midwestern University.
After serving on the faculty at Fisk University in Nashville, in 1956 Dr. Granville was hired by IBM Corporation and was assigned to work on a contract for NASA. Dr. Granville wrote programs to track orbital trajectories and calculations to ensure the safe re-entry of space vehicles into the atmosphere. She later taught at California State University and the University of Texas at Tyler.
Rachel McLean Sailor, an associate professor of art history at the University of Wyoming, has been named the winner of the Barbara Sudler Award from History Colorado. The award is presented biennially to a woman author of a nonfiction book on a western American topic.
