Kindred Murillo Selected to Lead Santa Barbara City College in California
Dr. Murillo has more than 24 years in the California Community College System. Beginning as an adjunct faculty member, she served 11 years as a chief business officer for three districts (Contra Costa, Pasadena Area, Copper Mountain). She was superintendent/president of Lake Tahoe Community College for nine years. She retired earlier this year after nearly four years leading the Southwestern Community College District in Chula Vista, California.
Prescott College in Arizona Names Barbara Morris as Its New President
Barbara Morris currently serves as associate vice provost and associate vice chancellor for academic affairs for the State University System of New York. Prior to her current role at SUNY, Dr. Morris served as president of SUNY Oneonta. Earlier, she spent 15 years on the faculty at the University of Redlands in California.
Krista Newkirk Will Be the First Woman President of the University of Redlands in California
Krista Newkirk has been serving as president of Converse College, an educational institution for women in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The college is now becoming co-educational. Prior to being named the tenth president of Converse College in 2016, Newkirk spent 13 years at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Nan Jenks-Jay Is Only the Third Person to Win AASHE’s Lifetime Achievement Award
Nan Jenks-Jay, former dean of environmental affairs at Middlebury College in Vermont, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. She retired from Middlebury College in 2019 after serving on the faculty for 21 years.

The results of the study by researchers at three universities found that just over 5 percent of college men have committed sexual assault and more than 87 percent of alcohol-involved sexual violence crimes were committed by serial offenders.

Since 2011, Dr. Barbara Jean Morris has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Fort Lewis College in Durnago, Colorado. Earlier, she worked for 16 years at the College of the Redlands in California, where she served as professor of government and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
