Lucile Adams-Campbell is a professor of oncology, associate director for minority health and health disparities research at the Georgetown University Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and associate dean of community health and outreach at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg Named Provost at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth
Currently, Dr. Dahlberg serves as dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University in New York. Prior to her current position, she served as chief academic officer, dean, and professor of electrical engineering at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York.
Tara Murray Elected President of the Special Libraries Association
Currently, Murray serves as librarian for Germanic and Slavic languages and literatures at Pennsylvania State University Libraries. Murray will serve as president-elect in 2019 and become president of the Special Libraries Association in 2020.

The honorees are Alexandra Ros at Arizona State University, Michele Eodice at the University of Oklahoma, Rohini Pande at the Kennedy School at Harvard University, Susan Fullerton of the University of Pittsburgh, and Michelle Petri at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

The three women honorees are Emily Elliott, an associate professor in the department of geology and environmental science, Elaine Vitone, senior editor at Pitt Med, the magazine of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and Valerie Kinloch, the Renee and Richard Goldman Dean of the School of Education.
Kim Carter Elected President of the Society of Research Administrators International
Carter is the executive director of the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration at the University of Kentucky and associate director of the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. Her term as president of the 5,000-member global society will start this October.
Wanda Austin Is the New Leader of the University of Southern California
From 2008 to 2016, Dr. Austin was president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the application of science and technology relating to the nation’s space program. She was the first woman and the first African American to serve as CEO of the organization since its founding in 1961.
Ann E. Cudd Selected to Be the Next Provost at the University of Pittsburgh
Since 2015, Dr. Cudd has served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University. Earlier, she was vice provost and dean of undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas. Dr. Cudd came to the University of Kansas in 1988 and was named a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy in 2012.

Bonnie Bassler, the Squibb Professor in Molecular Biology and chair of the biology department at Princeton University in New Jersey, will be honored this October in Pittsburgh for her research on cell-to-cell communication among bacteria.
In Memoriam: Martha Elizabeth Andresen Wilder, 1944-2018
After teaching for two years at the University of Pittsburgh, Professor Andresen joined the faculty at Pomona College in 1972. A scholar of Renaissance literature and Shakespeare, Dr. Andresen remained on the faculty at Pomona College for 34 years.

This coming October, the Magee-Women’s Research Institute at the University of Pittsburgh will hold its first Magee-Womens Rearch Summit. At this conference the inaugural Magee Prize of $ 1 million will be awarded to a collaborative team whose groundbreaking research in reproductive sciences and women’s health will improve lives globally.
Amy Wildermuth Will Be the Next Leader of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law
Professor Wildermuth currently serves as associate vice president for faculty and academic affairs at the University of Utah. Earlier, she was the university’s chief sustainability officer and a professor in the university’s College of Law. She was a clerk for Justice John Paul Stevens at the U.S. Supreme Court.
Dorothy Browne Named Provost at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina
In 2015, Dr. Browne was named the inaugural dean of the School of Public Health at Jackson State University in Mississippi. Earlier in her career, she was a professor of public health and senior scientist at the Prevention Research Center at Morgan State University in Baltimore.

In Memoriam: Betty Jane Lloyd, 1922-2017
Lloyd joined the faculty at the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1943. She later served as associate dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She retired from the university in 1983.
