The appointments are Mattie White at Emory University, Kristin Nines at Marquette University, Julie Breen at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Enku Gelaye at the University of Pittsburgh, MarQuita L. Danzy at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Nicky Gilberston at the University of South Dakota, Brandi Wells-Stone at the University of New Mexico, and Brook McArdle at Mount Mary University.
The three women named Distinguished Professors at the University of New Mexico are Melanie Moses in computer science and biology, Michelle Ozbun in molecular genetics and microbiology, and Tassy Parker in family and community medicine.
The women who have been appointed to new academic leadership roles are Kyna Shelley, Michelle Gray, Christi Brookes, Shirley Clark, Ruth Varner, Janette Kim, Amy Eyler, Stephanie King, and Rima Nakkash.
The new provosts are Barbara Rodriguez at the University of New Mexico, Bridget Chalk at Manhattan University in New York, and Jaci Lederman at Vincennes University in Indiana. All three women had been serving as their university's interim provost.

An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation (Diné), Dr. Jackson-Dennison has nearly four decades of experience in educational leadership, including more than two decades as a superintendent in Arizona public schools.
“Poetry is alive; it celebrates our human experience with language, voice, and reflection. I especially look forward to sharing and supporting poetry in Arizona's rural communities,” said Laura Tohe, professor emerita of English at Arizona State University and the next poet laureate for the state of Arizona.
For the past year, Dr. Minthorn has served as president-elect of the ASHE, a scholarly society dedicated to advancing research and policy in higher education. She will be the first Indigenous person to serve as president of the association.
Dr. Fisher has conducted extensive research on plasma chemistries for over three decades. She currently serves as vice president of research at the University of New Mexico.
