In Memoriam: Misti Hewatt Yang, 1979-2023

Diane Chase Appointed Provost at the University of Houston

Dr. Chase joins the University of Houston from Claremont Graduate University in California, where she served since 2019 as vice president for academic innovation, student success, and strategic initiatives. Earlier, Dr. Chase served as vice provost for academic program quality at the University of Central Florida before moving to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016 as executive vice president and provost.

Ford at Emory University in Atlanta, Biwei Huang in the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California, San Diego, Alison Bailey at Illinois State University, Breezy Taggart in the Honors College at the University of Wyoming, and Brett Abarbanel at the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Texas A&M University College of Dentistry Has Selected Lily Garcia as Its New Dean

Dr. Garcia currently serves as dean and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. Prior to UNLV, she served as associate dean for education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, as well as other leadership roles – division head and department chair at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and department chair at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

The New President of Leech Lake Tribal College in Cass Lake, Minnesota

Helen Zaikina-Montgomery came to the college in 2019 as the director of assessment and institutional research. She was appointed interim president in May 2021. She previously taught at Grand Canyon University and Nevada State College.

Christian Hardigree Chosen to Lead the St. Petersburg Campus of the University of South Florida

Professor Hardigree most recently served as the founding dean of the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Earlier, Professor Hardigree served as the founding director of the Institute for Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
