The new deans are Janet Eckerson at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Jennifer Schroeder at Georgia Southern University, Melanie Landon-Hays at Western Oregon University, Mingyan Liu at the University of Michigan, Christine Foreman at Montana State University, Tammy Webster at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Annette O'Connor at Kansas State University, and Candace Kuby at Georgia State University.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center has appointed three women to new leadership roles in the College of Nursing. Suzanne Nuss is assistant dean of the college's Omaha Division, Tracie Kirkland is associate dean for transformational practice and partnerships, and Kristi Lynch is assistant dean for enrollment management and student success.
The women selected for endowed faculty positions are Cambria Kaltwasse at Northwestern College in Iowa, Mette Gaarde at Louisiana State University, Jennifer Irish at Virginia Tech, and Abigail Lowe at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Black, a professor of nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, previously served as president of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel. The organization's new Joyce Black Award was established to recognize outstanding contributions to pressure injury research and education.
