President Hanson has served on the staff at the college since 1994 in several capacities. Since November 2022, she has been acting president. Previously, Hanson was vice president of student services and enrollment management during the fall of 2022 and the dean of student services from 2018 to 2022.
Dr. Moerke serves as a professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Before joining the faculty at Lake Superior State University in 2004, Dr. Moerke was a scientist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Dr. Danielle Dennis had been serving as an associate professor of literacy studies and co-coordinator of the Urban Teacher Residency Partnership Program at the University of South Florida. She holds a Ph.D. in language and literacy education from the University of Tennessee.
The former coaches of the women's ice hockey, basketball, and softball teams allege that they were subjected to a hostile work environment and fired due to their gender and sexual orientation. The university vows to "aggressively defend" itself against the allegations.
