Can Men Be Taught to Understand Women’s Nonverbal Cues Relating to Sexual Interest?
Undergraduate students were shown a series of 130 full-body photographs of women wearing warn weather clothing and asked to gauge the models’ sexual interest. Half of the participants were given instructions prior to viewing the photographs telling them to focus on the nonverbal clues rather than the women’s clothing or attractiveness.

Marilynne Robinson Selected to Receive the Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction
Marilynne Robinson is the F. Wendell Miller Professor of English and Creative Writing at the Iowa Writer’s Workshop of the University of Iowa. Virginia A. Myers, the inventor of the Iowa Foil Printer and a longtime faculty member at the University of Iowa, died last month. She served on the faculty at the University of Iowa for a half century before retiring in 2012.
Sue J. Mattison Named the Next Provost at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa
