Currently, Dr. Wente serves as provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. She has been on the Vanderbilt faculty since 2002. Dr. Wente began her teaching career at Washington University’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Poser has, for the past five years, served as the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Illinois Chicago. Previously, she was dean of the College of Law at the University of Nebraska.
The award is given to psychology’s most accomplished and respected scientists whose research addresses critical societal problems. Alison Gopnik of the University of California, Berkeley, and Megan Gunnar of the University of Minnesota are two of this year's three winners.
