Dr. Gaba is the first woman and the first African American to serve as president of Atlantic Cape Community College in New Jersey. Before her current role, she was provost of Union County College in New Jersey for 15 years.

The appointments are Huajing Maske at the University of Nevada, Las Vega, Yun Jin Rho at Western Governors University, and Christy Smith at West Georgia Technical College.

The American Chemical Society's Division of Carbohydrate Chemistry & Chemical Glycobiology has presented its David Y. Gin Award to Stacy Malaker for her outstanding early-career research contributions to the field.

Kelly Bruhn was named dean of the Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Jamie Wittenberg was named dean of University Libraries at Loyola University Chicago and Heather Greenlee was appointed interim dean of the Iowa State University Graduate College.
