Eight Women Who Have Been Appointed to Dean Positions in Higher Education
The new deans are Aimee Arias at the College of Charleston, Mary Lois White, at Louisiana State University-Shreveport, Ruth Wittmann-Price at Thomas Edison State University, Frances Vavrus at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Mary Crossley at the University of Pittsburgh, Maria P. Gindhart at Marshall University in West Virginia, Melina Hale at the University of Chicago, and Nicole Dafoe at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
Thomas Edison State University Launches the Journal of Women and Minorities in Technology
The new publication will be an open access journal that provides quality peer-reviewed articles written by academic and professionals in the fields of aviation, nuclear technology, cybersecurity, and information technology. The articles will provide technical and soft-skills information aimed at helping women and minorities succeed in these fields.
The First Woman President of Peirce College in Philadelphia
Mary Ellen Caro has been serving as vice president of enrollment management at Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey. She has served on the staff there since 2004. When Dr. Caro takes office, she will be the first woman to serve as president in the 153-year history of Peirce College.
Merodie Hancock Selected to Be the Fourth President of Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey
Since 2013, Dr. Hancock has served as president of Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York, a campus of the State University of New York System. Earlier, Dr. Hancock was the vice president of the Global Campus of Central Michigan University.
