Study Finds That Woman Instructors Pull in More Women Students in STEM Fields

The online learning platform Coursera sent out a promotional mailing for a new STEM course. Two identical emails were sent; one with a woman instructor and one with a male instructor. They found that women were 26 more likely to enroll in a course with a woman instructor than the course with a male instructor.

Tufts University Receives Grant Aimed to Increase the Number of Women Engineers

The Center for Engineering and Education Outreach at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, received a $60,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation for a program that aims to increase the number of women in engineering.
