Upon assuming her new role on July 1, Dr. Gina Spivey-Brown will become the first woman to lead Oakwood University. She has served as dean of Howard University's College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences for the past decade.
Taking on new roles are Lisa Portes at the University of California, San Diego, Amalia Leifeste in the School of Architecture at Clemson University in South Carolina, Dawn M. Turner at Oakwood University in Alabama, Paula Cohen at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and Caroline Ajo-Franklin at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Since 2015, Gina S. Brown has dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Brown was recognized for her leadership and achievements in healthcare, government, and for her positive impact on society.
