Susan Gass of Michigan State University and Alison Mackey of Georgetown University will share the Kenneth W. Mildenberger Prize from the Modern Language Association for their work in teaching English as a second language.
Margaret Ferguson, Distinguished Professor of English at the University of California at Davis, has been elected as the 124th president of the Modern Language Association. She will become president on January 1.
Stephanie L. Batiste, an associate professor of English and Black studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara, has been named as the winner of the William Sanders Scarborough Prize.
