The new deans are Angela Pool-Funai at the University of Wyoming, Catherine Bradshaw at Johns Hopkins University, Katherine Eggert at the University of Colorado Boulder, Marcia Weiss at Thomas Jefferson University, Yael Grushka-Cockayne at the University of Virginia, Azadeh Keivani at Lehman College, and Julie Amador at the University of Idaho.
“This encyclopedia comes at a time when matters related to gender and education are increasingly fraught and urgent in the United States and globally and is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to understand how gender shapes educational experiences and outcomes,” said co-editor Sherry Deckman of the City University of New York.
Eight women scholars affiliated with higher educational institutions in the United States were recently presented with awards at the 139th annual meeting of the American Historical Association in Chicago.

Dr. Anny Morrobel-Sosa was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs for Lehman College of the City University of New York and Garnett S. Stokes is provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
When she takes office on July 1, Dr. Papazian will be the university’s 29th president and the third woman president in San Jose State's 159-year history. Currently, Dr. Papazian is president of Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut.
