Professor White won the Kemper and Leila Williams Book Prize from the Historic New Orleans Collection and the Louisiana Historical Association and the 2020 Summerlee Book Prize from the Center for History and Culture of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast at Lamar University.
The women appointed to dean posts are Lynn Mauer at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, Donna Nickitas at Rutgers University-Camden in New Jersey, Toddi Steelman at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, Elisabeth Young at Northeast Ohio Medical University, and Carolyn Henry at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Grigsby was an associate professor of educational leadership at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She also served as chair of the department of leadership and policy analysis and was chair of the doctorate of education in educational leadership program at the university.
