Nina LaCour, who teaches in the master of fine arts degree program in creative writing at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, was named the recipient of the 2018 Michael L. Prinzt Literary Award from the American Library Association.

Anne McKeig, a graduate of Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, was appointed an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Minnesota is now one of only two states where women make up a majority of the justices on the state's highest court. She is also the first American Indian justice to serve on Minnesota's highest court.
Dr. Miller currently serves as dean of the College of Education and Social Services and professor of leadership and developmental sciences at the University of Vermont. Previously, she taught for 20 years at Brown University.
