Dr. Green had recently retired from the presidency of Governors State University on March 1. She was the university's sixth and first Black president. Her background in higher education included over three decades of experience as an administrator professor of psychology.
Last year, Dr. Green was appointed interim chancellor of the University of Wisconson-Whitewater. At that time she was vice chancellor of student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Earlier, Dr. Green served as assistant vice president of student affairs at Tennessee State University.
Since 2013, Dr. Bordelon has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois. Earlier, she was dean of the College of Education at the university.
Dr. Mitchell has served as interim president of Joilet Junior College since March of this year. From 2012 to early 2016, she was vice president of administrative services at the college. Dr. Mitchell holds a doctorate in community college leadership from National Louis University in Chicago.
The board of trustees of Joliet Junior College in Illinois named Judy Mitchell as interim president of the educational institution upon the sudden resignation of President Debra Daniels. Since 2012 Dr. Mitchell has served as vice president of administrative services at the college.

The eight women who were recently appointed to positions as deans are Beryl McEwen, Caroline Rivera, Merith Cosden, Andrea E. Evans, Terri Camesano, Donna J. Wagner, Arletha McSwain, and Linda Malone-Cohen.
The women receiving awards are Susan Straight of the University of California, Riverside, Elaine Maimon of Governors State University, Rosemary O'Leary of the University of Kansas and Merline Pitre of Texas Southern University.
The new deans are Lydia Morrow Reutten at Governors State University, Susan Westerberg Prager at Southwestern Law School, Denise Korniewicz at the University of North Dakota, and Suzanne Keen at Washington and Lee University.
Brid Grant, Ann Carruth, Julie DeGraw, Elizabeth Cada, Susan Stapleton, Laurie Achenbach, Jennifer Iacino, and Kim Wilson are all named to dean positions.
