The appointments are Marquita Graves at North Carolina A&T State University, Christine Hutchins at James Madison University, Aurali Dade at George Mason University, Karen Eye at Western Carolina University, Dee Dee Mayer at Pepperdine University, Mary Czech-Mrochinski at Marquette University, Neela Rajendra at Reed College, and Rachael Honig at the University of Rochester.
Professors Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera, Naoru Koizumi, and Janine Wedel are co-directors of the newly launched Corruption, Networks, and Transnational Crime Research Center at George Mason University in Virginia.
The new deans are Mary Frances Luce at Duke University in North Carolina, Gabrielle Rachael Thomas at Yale University, Karen Drenkard at George Mason University in Virginia, Nicole Kong at Purdue University in Indiana, and Natalie Bayer at Drake University in Iowa.
For the second year in a row, Danielle Keats Citron of the University of Virginia School of Law, is the country's top-cited legal scholar. Six other women are included among the top 10 most-cited law professors — more than double the number of the past two years.
Although women are the majority of undergradaute students (55 percent), they are underrepresented among NCAA varsity student-athletes (43 percent). Women are also less than half of all coaches for women's collegiate athletic teams.
Overall, women are more likely than men to respond with empathy and engage in bystander intervention after observing workplace harassment. However, in organizations that are highly intolerant of harassment, this gender gap disappears, providing evidence that training programs centered on empathy can create safer workplace environments for everyone.
Since 2022, Ellis has been a staff member with George Mason University in Virginia, where she focuses on advancing faculty and staff engagement. She has also taught as an adjunct professor for career readiness and professional skills development.
