Dr. Whalen has been serving as vice president of academic services at Las Positas College in Livermore, California. She also serves in a statewide role as vice president of the California Community Colleges Chief Instructional Officers Association. Dr. Whalen will become president of Foothill College on March 31.
Currently, Dr. Messina serves as the interim vice president of instruction at Clovis Community College in California. She previously served for five years at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California, as the vice president of instruction and institutional research and as interim president.
Thuy Thi Nguyen currently serves as general counsel for the chancellor's office of California Community Colleges. When she takes office at Foothill College, Nguyen will be the first Vietnamese American to lead a community college in California.
