Dr. Barkley is slated to become the first woman president of Spoon River College on August 31. She comes to her new role from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois, where she serves as vice president of academic and student affairs.
Dr. Gonko has led Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan on an interim basis for the past year. She will assume the presidency of Macomb Community College on July 1.
The four women appointed to dean positions are Eleanor Feingold at Oregon State University, Catherine Ingrassi at Virginia Commonwealth University, Mellissa Just at the University of Southern California, and Lina Blair at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.
