After serving as interim provost for the past year, Dr. Laura Stultz has been officially appointed provost of Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. She has been a faculty member with the college for over two decades.
Dr, Shearburn joined the faculty at Salem College and Academy in 1977 to direct the Orton Center, an endowed center in the department of education that focused on special education. When the center closed, Dr. Shearburn remained on the faculty and taught women's studies. She retired in 1998.
Since 2014, Michelle Behr has been serving as provost, senior vice president for academic affairs, and dean of the college at Birmingham Southern College in Alabama. Earlier, she was dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
Since 2013, Flaherty-Goldsmith has worked as a pro bono consultant with Human Rights First, a non-profit, nonpartisan human rights organization. Earlier she was chief of staff for the president of Birmingham-Southern College.
At the current time, Dr. Murray serves as provost, dean of the faculty, and professor of music at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She will become the 14th president of the 1,500-student Whitman College in July 2015.
