Mariko Silver, president of Bennington College in Vermont, will step down from her post on July 1 to become president of the Henry Luce Foundation in New York City. The board of trustees at Bennington College has named Isabel Roche, provost and dean of the college, as interim president.

Nathalie Handal, a professor of English at Columbia University and a professor in the low-residency creative writing program at Sierra Nevada College, has been selected to received the The George Ellenbogen Poetry Award as part of the 2016 Arab American Book Awards.
Lynn Emanuel, professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh, received the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets. The prize honors the most outstanding book of poetry published in the previous calendar year.
Safiya Sinclair is currently a Dornsife Doctoral Fellow in literature and creative writing at the University of Southern California. She is a graduate of Bennington College in southwestern Vermont and holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Virginia.
