In announcing the award the society stated that "Henry’s work specializes in painting, textile and mixed-media installation work that explores social relationships through depictions of the human figure shown in isolation and interacting with one another."
Of this year’s 24 MacArthur Fellows, four are women with current ties to the academic world. They are LaToya Ruby Frazier, Marina Rustow, Beth Stevens, and Heidi Williams.
The women appointed to new administrative posts are Victoria Sancho Lobis, Kimberly Edwards-Hunter, Laleta Davis-Mattis, Susan Curtis, Arlina DeNardo, Elizabeth A. Hadley, Renu Kulkarni and Cynthia Naughton.
