Alverno College President Announces Her Retirement
In 2004, Mary J. Meehan was appointed the seventh president and the first lay president of Alverno College, a Catholic college for women in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. President Meehan has announced that she will retire at the end of the 2015-16 academic year.

In a letter to the college community, Laura Daignault Gates, chair of the board of trustees and H. Kim Bottomly, president of Wellesley College, wrote that “Wellesley will consider for admission any applicant who lives as a woman and consistently identifies as a woman.”
Kerry Walk Appointed President of Marymount Manhattan College
Dr. Walk is currently serving as interim president of the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She was named provost there in 2011. Dr. Walk will become president of Marymount Manhattan College on July 1.
