Auburn University Professor Emerita Is the New Leader of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Dr. Evelyn F. Crayton was a professor of nutrition dietetics, and hospitality management and assistant director of extension family and consumer sciences at Auburn University in Alabama. Dr. Crayton is the organization’s 90th leader and the first African American to hold the post.
The New President of Saint Catharine College in Kentucky
Cindy Meyers Gnadinger was named the eighth president of Saint Catharine’s College in Kentucky. She had been serving as provost at the college. Previously, Dr. Gnadinger was vice president for academic affairs at William Peace University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Next Chancellor of the Eunice Campus of Louisiana State University
Kimberly A. Russell was named chancellor of Louisiana State University Eunice. The university enrolls about 2,700 students and women make up 70 percent of the student body, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Education.
The New Provost at Berkeley College
Dr. Mary McDonough joined the faculty of the business department at Berkeley College in 2000. The college operates three campuses in New York and six in New Jersey as well as an extensive online degree program.

Since 2014, Dr. Brand has been vice president at Digital Science, a subsidiary of Holtzbrinch Publishing Group. Previously, she was an assistant provost at Harvard University. From 1994 to 2000, Dr. Brand was executive editor at MIT Press for cognitive science and linguistics.
Ardis Hoven Is the First Woman Chair of the World Medical Association
Dr. Hoven will serve a two-year term as head of the organization that represents 111 medical associations worldwide. She is a professor emerita at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and past president of the American Medical Association.
Carol Ann Mooney to Step Down From Presidency of Saint Mary’s College
Carol Ann Mooney, the 11th president of Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, announced that she will step down on May 31, 2016. President Mooney will have led the college for 12 years.
Sweet Briar College to Remain Open
Sweet Briar College shocked the academic community in March by announcing it would close in August. Now a new agreement announced by the attorney general of Virginia, will keep the college open for the time being. But significant problems remain.
Tina Q. Richardson Named Chancellor of the Lehigh Valley Campus of Pennsylvania State University
Tina Q. Richardson has been serving as associate dean of academic affairs in the School of Education at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She will begin her new job on July 15.
Doreen Larson Appointed President of Edison Community College in Piqua, Ohio
Since 2010, Dr. Larson has been president of Pierpont Community and Technical College in Fairmont, West Virginia. Earlier, she held administrative posts at Holyoke Community College in Massachusetts and Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio.
Jennifer Mnookin to Lead the UCLA School of Law
Jennifer Mnookin was selected as the ninth dean of the School of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles. An expert in evidence law, Dr. Mnookin has been on the UCLA law faculty since 2005 and currently is the David G. Price and Dallas R. Price Professor of Law.
Andrea Miller Named President of LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis
When she takes office on September 1, Dr. Miller will be the first woman president in the college’s 153-year history. Since 2012, Dr. Miller has been chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana.
Another Women’s College Decides to Become Fully Co-Educational
The board of trustees of the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey, has decided to transition the college to a fully coeducational institution. Men will be admitted to the residential undergraduate college beginning in the fall of 2016.
The First Woman Dean at the Wake Forest University School of Law
Suzanne Reynolds has served as interim dean for the past year. From 2010 until her appointment as interim dean, she served as executive associate dean for academic affairs. She joined the law school’s faculty in 1981.
Susan Lamb to Lead City College of San Francisco
Susan Lamb has been serving as vice chancellor of academic affairs at the two-year college. She is expected to lead the college as interim chancellor through the 2015-16 academic year.
Chatham University President Announces Her Retirement
Esther L. Barazzone, the president of Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has announced that she will retire at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. Dr. Barazzone has led the university since 1992.
Barnard College Will Consider Transgender Students for Admission
According to a statement from the board chair and president, “Barnard College will consider for admission those applicants who consistently live and identify as women, regardless of the gender assigned to them at birth.”
Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, Names Tashni Dubroy as Its 17th President
Dr. Dubroy has been serving as as the special assistant to the president for process optimization at Shaw University. Dr. Dubroy is also the co-founder of Tea and Honey Blends, a hair care products company.
Barbara McDonald Named President of North Hennepin Community College in Minnesota
Dr. McDonald, who will take office on July 1, has been serving since 2014 as interim president of Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls. Previously, she was provost at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Louise Richardson Will Be the First Woman to Lead Oxford University
Irish-born Louise Richardson, who earned two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in the United States, will become the first woman to lead the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world.
University of Virginia Extends Contract of President Teresa Sullivan
In 2012, the board of visitors at the University of Virginia announced that Teresa A. Sullivan would be leaving the presidency of the university after only two years on the job. After protests by students and faculty, she was reinstated just 16 days later. Now her contact has been extended.
Melissa Nobles Appointed Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at MIT
Melissa Nobles was named as the next dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has been a member of the MIT faculty since 1995 and holds an endowed chair in political science.

Since 2011, Maria Thompson has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York at Oneonta. Previously, she was an administrator at Tennessee State University in Nashville.

Margaret McKenna was named the tenth president of Suffolk University in Boston. She was president of Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from 1985 to 2007. Most recently, McKenna has been teaching at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The First Woman Chancellor of the Florida College System
Madeline M. Pumariega was appointed chancellor of the Florida College System. The system serves more than 800,000 students at 28 colleges throughout the state of Florida. When she takes office in September, she will be the first woman to hold the position.

The board of trustees of the State University of New York has named Heidi Macpherson as president of the College of Brockport and Kristine M. Young as president of Orange County Community College in Middletown, New York.
Sheila Bair Named the 28th President of Washington College
Sheila Bair served as chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation fro 2006 to 2011. Earlier, she was Dean’s Professor of Financial Regulatory Policy in the School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She will be first woman president of Washington College.
Wayne State College in Nebraska Names Its Next President
Dr. Marysz Rames has been serving as the interim president of Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. Previously, she was vice president for student affairs at South Dakota State University in Brookings.
Betty Young Named the Third President of Hocking College in Ohio
Dr. Young has served in the post on an interim basis since October 2014. Previously, she was president of three other community colleges. President Young holds three degrees from Ohio University and two law degrees from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

Soonja Choe is the new president of Inha University in South Korea. She is the first woman president in the 61-year history of the university. Dr. Choe earned master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Southern California.

Alecia A. DeCoudreaux, president of Mills College in Oakland, California, has announced that she will step down in June 2016. She became president of the women’s college on July 1, 2011 after a long career in the legal department of Eli Lilly and Company.
