Linda Mills Appointed the Seventeenth President of New York University
Dr. Mills has been serving as vice chancellor and senior vice provost for global programs and university life at NYU. Dr. Mills is also the Lisa Ellen Goldberg Professor of Social Work, Public Policy, and Law and has served as the executive director of the NYU Center on Violence and Recovery. Dr. Mills’ principal areas of scholarly focus are trauma, bias, and domestic violence.
Hilary Link Has Been Named the Fifteenth President of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey
Since 2019, Dr. Link has been the president of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. From 2013 to 2019, she served as dean of Temple University Rome. As the senior Temple University administrator in Rome, she was responsible for all aspects of the Rome campus, which enrolls more than 600 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. Earlier, Dr. Link was vice provost at Barnard College in New York City.
Two Women Scholars Who Have Been Appointed to University Provost Positions
Katherine Baicker, the Emmett Dedmon Professor and dean of the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, has been appointed the next provost of the university, effective March 20, and Dimetri Horner is the new provost and vice president of academic affairs at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis.
Laurie Joyner Will Be the First Woman President of St. Norbert College in Wisconsin
Since 2017, Dr. Joyner has been president of St. Xavier University in Chicago. Prior to St. Xavier, Joyner served as president of Wittenberg University in Ohio and in multiple vice presidential and dean roles at Rollins College in Florida. Earlier, Dr. Joyner served on the faculty and held administrative positions of increasing responsibility at Loyola University New Orleans.
Michelle W. Krause Is the New Leader of University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Health
In this role, Dr. Krause will be responsible for UAMS Health’s 535-bed hospital, outpatient clinics in central Arkansas, digital health services and clinics at eight regional campuses across the state. She serves as chair of the board of directors of the Baptist Health-UAMS Accountable Care Alliance and is also a professor in the UAMS College of Medicine.
Misaki Takabayashi Will Be the Next Chancellor of Kapiʻolani Community College in Honolulu
Dr. Takabayashi is a marine scientist specializing in coral reef molecular ecology. She has been serving as the associate vice president/vice dean of the graduate school at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University in Japan.
Four Women Who Have Been Appointed Provosts
The women appointed to provost positions are Nicolle Parsons-Pollard at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Elizabeth Mullenix at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Marguerite S. Giguette at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, and Gabby McCutchen at the Scott Northern Campus of Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Lori Kloos Appointed President of St. Cloud Technical & Community College in Minnesota
Kloos has been serving as interim president of the college since July 2022. From 2000 to 2022, Kloos served as vice president of administration and chief financial officer at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She also served as SCTCC’s interim president from 2017 to 2018 and as acting president in 2005 and 2022.
Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, Appoints Susan L. Parish as Its New President
Currently, Dr. Parish is dean of the College of Health Professions and Sentara Professor of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Prior to joining the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University, she served as dean of Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston.
Danielle Holley Will Be the Twentieth President of Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts
In 2014, President-elect Holley was named dean and a professor of law at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. Previously she was associate dean and a professor of law at the University of South Carolina Law School. Earlier in her career, she taught at the Hofstra University School of Law in New York.
Sandra Richtermeyer Will Be the Next Provost at Rutgers University Camden
Since 2016, Dr. Richtermeyer has served as the dean of the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Earlier, she was a professor of accountancy and business law and associate dean of the College of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati.
Bonita Brown Is the New Leader of Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights
Since 2019, Brown had been serving as vice president and chief strategy officer at the university. Prior to her role at NKU, Brown served as the vice president for network engagement at Achieving the Dream, a national nonprofit leader that champions evidence-based institutional improvement in community colleges across the country.
Marta Yera Cronin Will Be the Next President of Delaware County Community College in Media, Pennsylvania
Dr. Cronin is currently the president of Columbia Gorge Community College in The Dalles, Oregon. Prior to becoming president of Columbia Gorge Community College in 2018, she served in various administrative and faculty roles at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida, including vice president of academic affairs, dean of the School of Education, department chair, and full professor.
Ingrid Thompson-Sellers Is the New President of Atlanta Metropolitan State College
In 2017, Dr. Thompson-Sellers was appointed president of South Georgia State College in Douglas. Previously, she was a professor of business information systems at Georgia State University in Atlanta and had served as senior associate dean at the university. Earlier she taught at Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur and at what is now Iona University in New Rochelle, New York.
Michigan State University’s Felicia Wu to Lead the Society for Risk Analysis
Felicia Wu is a John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor in the department of food science and human nutrition and the department of agricultural, food and resource economics at Michigan State University. Her research examines the national and global burden of foodborne disease, how improved nutrition can counteract the harmful effects of toxins, and how cost-effective strategies can improve food safety.
Kristina Whalen Appointed President of Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California
Dr. Whalen has been serving as vice president of academic services at Las Positas College in Livermore, California. She also serves in a statewide role as vice president of the California Community Colleges Chief Instructional Officers Association. Dr. Whalen will become president of Foothill College on March 31.
Joy Bodin Appointed President of Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Bodin has been serving as interim president of Hennepin Technical College since June 2022. From 2017 to 2022, Bodin served as the vice president of academic and student affairs at Central Lakes College, with campuses in Brainerd and Staples, Minnesota. Previously, she served Hennepin Technical College from 1992 to 2017 in several capacities, most recently as academic dean.

Diane Chase Appointed Provost at the University of Houston
Dr. Chase joins the University of Houston from Claremont Graduate University in California, where she served since 2019 as vice president for academic innovation, student success, and strategic initiatives. Earlier, Dr. Chase served as vice provost for academic program quality at the University of Central Florida before moving to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016 as executive vice president and provost.
Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Has Selected Ritu Raju as Its New President
Dr. Raju most recently served as vice president for academic affairs at Tarrant County College’s Northeast Campus in Hurst, Texas, a position she’s held since 2020. Prior to that, she served as dean for advanced manufacturing at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas.
Columbia University Names Nemat Shafik as Its First Woman President
Dr. Shafik has led the London School of Economics and Political Science since 2017. Earlier, she was the first female permanent secretary of the Department for International Development for the United Kingdom. Dr. Shafik began her career at the World Bank, becoming the bank’s youngest-ever vice president at the age of 36.
Karen Petersen Will Be the Thirteenth President and Second Woman to Lead Hendrix College in Arkansas
Dr. Petersen currently serves as a professor of political science and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Earlier, Dr. Petersen served for nearly 16 years at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. In addition to being a faculty member, she served in three progressively responsible leadership roles culminating with her tenure as dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
Ellen Granberg Will Be the First Woman President of George Washington University
Dr. Granberg is a sociologist who currently serves as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. Before coming to RIT in 2018, she was a professor of sociology, department chair, associate provost for faculty affairs, and senior associate provost at Clemson University in South Carolina.
Loyola University of Chicago’s Eva Wojcik Is the New Leader of the College of American Pathologists Foundation
Dr. Wojcik is the Helen M. and Raymond M. Galvin Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Urology at Loyola Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Maywood, Illinois.
Brenda Jackson Is the New Leader of Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina
Jackson retired at the end of the last academic year after seven years as executive vice president of the college.

Dr. Monteroso has been at West Liberty University for 13 years, serving first as a member of faculty, then dean of the College of Education and Human Performance and for the past year as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Hillary Rodham Clinton to Teach at Columbia University
Hillary Rodham Clinton, former First Lady of the United States, former U.S. senator from the State of New York, former U.S. Secretary of State, and the only woman to win a major nomination for President of the United States, is joining Columbia University in New York City as professor of practice at the School of International and Public Affairs and presidential fellow at Columbia World Projects.
Karen Riley Chosen as the Next President of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania
Dr. Riley has been provost and chief academic officer at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, since 2021. Before joining Regis University. she was dean of the College of Education at the University of Denver from 2014 to 2021. She will become president of Slippery Rock University on July 1.
Florida State’s Emily DuVal Named President-Elect of the Animal Behavior Society
Dr. DuVal is an animal ecology and evolution expert who specializes in the evolution of complex social behavior in wild birds, such as their courtship and mating processes. Her lab studies cooperation and mate choice of lance-tailed manakins in the tropical forests of Panama as well as nuthatches in the longleaf forest of the Tallahassee area.
Tracy Morris Selected as the Eleventh President of Illinois Valley Community College
Dr. Morris currently is the compliance officer at Joliet Junior College in Illinois. Prior to joining Joliet Junior College in 2018, she was vice president of student services at Illinois Central College. Earlier, she was on the staff at Illinois Valley Community College for 13 years.
Mirta Martin Is the New Leader of Ferrum College in Virginia
Dr. Martin, a native of Havana, Cuba, was president of Fairmont State University in West Virginia from 2018 to 2022. She was president of Fort Hays State University in Kansas from 2014 to 2016. Prior to Fort Hays, Dr. Martin served as the dean of Virginia State University’s Reginald F. Lewis School of Business from 2009 to 2014.
Naydeen González-De Jesús Will Be the Thirteenth President of San Antonio College in Texas
Dr. González-De Jesús has been serving the executive vice president of student success at Milwaukee Area Technical College in Wisconsin. Prior to her position at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Dr. Gonzalez-De Jesus served as the public diplomacy officer for the U.S. embassy in Argentina.
Sabrina Ezzell Appointed Chancellor of the Gallup Campus of the University of New Mexico
Dr. Ezzell has served as interim chancellor since July 2022. Prior to her appointment as interim chancellor, she was an associate professor and chair of the education, health, and human services department. She began her academic career in 2003 as a clinical instructor in the nursing program at the University of New Mexico-Gallup after a career as a registered nurse.
