The women who are taking on academic leadership positions are Ana Miljački at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dolores Albarracín at the University of Pennsylvania, Wen Zhang at the University of Arkansas, Ashanti Jones at the University of Louisiana Monroe, Uma Velury at the University of Delaware, and Lia Uribe at the University of Arizona.
The new deans are Dina Perrone at California State University, Long Beach, Karin Gwinn Wilkins at Stony Brook University in New York, Jenny Paxton at the Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C., Jillian Jackson at Shaw University in North Carolina, and Carol Ann Borchert at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Kahanov became the twentieth president of Notre Dame de Namur University in California on July 1. She previously served as provost at Alvernia University in Pennsylvania, Stockton University in New Jersey, and SUNY Oneonta.
Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
Dr. Allmendinger began her tenure as the sixth president of Delta College in Michigan on June 29. Prior to her new role, she spent three years as vice president of student affairs at Southeastern Community College in Iowa.
The new deans are Kyaien Conner at the University of Pittsburgh, Rosilie Hernández at the University of Illinois Chicago, Robin Hojnoski at Lehigh University, Jamie Newman at Louisiana Tech University, Donna Nicol at California State University Long Beach, Julie Amador at the University of Idaho, Li-Chiou Chen at Pace University, and Lynn Mayer at the Catholic University of America.
Susan Rogers was named president of Central Maine College, effective August 10. Hara D. Charlier is the new president of Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
The new provosts are Kim Whitehead at Mississippi University for Women, Preselfannie E. Whitfield McDaniels at Jackson State University in Mississippi, Caroline R. Sherman at McDaniel College in Maryland, Tywana Chenault Hemby at Paine College in Georgia, and LaToya Mason at Lake Michigan College.
The new deans are Elena Irwin at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Rachel Carpenter at the University of Evansville, Jennifer Wade-Berg at California State University, Long Beach, Mandy Haag at Vincennes University, Christa Payne at Tulane University, and Brandi Renée Avila at Fullerton College.
On July 1, Dr. Barnard officially became the first woman president of Jessup University in Rocklin, California. She most recently served as provost and senior vice president at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
Effective August 1, Dr. Pratt will lead Penn State's campuses in Hazelton, Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre. She comes to her new role from Virginia Tech, where she most recently served as vice president for strategic affairs.
