The Massachusetts Institute of Technology recently granted tenure to five women scholars in the School of Engineering: Christina Delimitrou, Sili Deng, Carmen Guerra-Garcia, Laura Lewis, and Tami Lieberman.
Angela Boswell was named interim dean of the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Heather Schugar was appointed interim dean of the College of Education and Vanessa Kahen is interim dean of the College of Health Sciences.
The three women promoted to full professor at Hamilton College in New York are Kate Brown in physics, Courtney Gibbons in mathematics and statistics, and Pavitra Sundar in literature and creative writing.
The women who have been appointed to new academic leadership roles are Kyna Shelley, Michelle Gray, Christi Brookes, Shirley Clark, Ruth Varner, Janette Kim, Amy Eyler, Stephanie King, and Rima Nakkash.

The women who have been selected for endowed faculty appointments are Maria Geisinger at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Indira U. Mysorekar at Pennsylvania State University, Triparna Sen at Ohio State University, and Jennifer Lemke at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
The five women appointed to chair academic departments at the University of Notre Dame are Ying ‘Alison’ Cheng in psychology; Emilia Justyna Powell in political science; Marisel Moreno in romance languages and literatures; Anne García-Romero in film, television, and theatre; and Dianne Pinderhughes in Africana studies.
St. Catherine University, a women-oriented educational institution in St. Paul, Minnesota, has announced the promotion of six faculty members to the rank of full professor. Four of these promotions went to women.
The appointments are Katrina Armstrong at Columbia University, Melissa Schwartzberg at Princeton University, R.F. Kuang at the College of the Holy Cross, Khadijah Ali-Coleman at Coppin State University, Stacey Saunders-Adams at Ohio University, Noelani Goodyear-Kaʻōpua at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and Jess Jones at the University of Pennsylvania.
