Research Finds Women College Students Are Moving Away From Exclusive Heterosexuality

Over the past 15 years, the share of young women identifying as something other than exclusively straight increased from 22 percent to 50 percent, according to a new study from Binghamton University. Notably, the research did not find a similar trend among young men, who are more likely to say they are either exclusively straight or exclusively gay.

Study Links State-Level Abortion Bans to Increased Suicidality in Adolescent Girls

Prior to 2022, trends in suicidality among adolescents were similar across U.S. states. However, after the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, these trends diverged, with suicidal ideation and suicide attempts among girls increasing in states that had instituted abortion bans and decreasing in states that had not enacted bans.
